Abstract:
Healthcare in Canada has been described as inefficient, fragmented, and physician-centered. 1 By providing computerized decision support systems (CDSS) to healthcare providers, improvements in quality of care, continuity of care, efficiency, communication, identification of risk factors, and adherence with best-practice guidelines are expected. 2 Less understood are physicians' perspectives on if and how a CDSS should be developed. The aim of this study is to address this gap and inform the development of an effective CDSS for use by physicians.
